A wise man once said …
“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.”
This was said by Albert Einstein, therefore …
This quote shouldn’t be disregarded as it is was spoken by one of our most influential geniuses in history.
So … let’s talk about imagination.
Is imagination better than knowledge? Let’s dive in.
What Is Imagination?
Imagination by definition is the action of forming new ideas, concepts or images of external objects not present to the senses.
Or simplified …
Imagination is the ability to create or project an image in your mind using your senses.
That is, seeing, feeling and embracing something that isn’t yet matter or form.
Whereas knowledge is limited to what us humans know and understand …
Imagination is open to infinite possibilities and adventures.
It allows you to explore beyond a world of limitations and restrictions, thus enhancing the creative and innovative side of you.
“Originality thrives in seclusion when free of outside influences beating upon us to cripple the creative mind. Be alone, that is the secret of invention; be alone, that is when ideas are born.”
– Nikola Tesla
Wise words spoken by Nikola Tesla …
When you’re in an environment free from outside influences, distractions and opinions, your creativity, originality and innovation thrives.
It’s where new ideas are born.
Why Is Imagination Important?
It’s important because …
Imagination seizes all knowledge and extends beyond the 3D realm of duality, social conditioning and ideology.
In other words …
It goes beyond the Matrix and welcomes new ideas, thoughts, feelings, etc.
You can see, feel, create and experience anything you desire.
Through imagination, dreams, inventions and revolutions are born.
Remember, Einstein said, “imagination stimulates progress, giving birth to evolution.”
You may be thinking …
“How does imagination stimulate progress?”
The answer is simple …
Without imagination, revolutionary inventions and technologies would never occur.
Therefore, we wouldn’t progress.
You wouldn’t even be reading this article if imagination didn’t exist.
“Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”
– Steve Jobs
Leaders imagine and see visions, and action that which they see and feel.
Inventions emerge as a result of imagination, creative ideas and innovative solutions.
This is because …
Energy precedes matter.
Meaning, your imagination, thoughts, emotions and projections precede your actions.
Think of it like you’re a movie projector …
Anything you put into the movie projector (thoughts, vibrations, feelings, etc.) will manifest into your reality.
Therefore, your reality stems from your thoughts and imagination.
In other words …
Your thoughts and feelings dictate your reality.
This is why it’s important to control your thoughts.
“The mind is everything, what you think, you become.”
– Buddha
This is why imagination is important.
Imagination is the prime basis of manifestation.
Now … let’s ask the big question.
“Is Imagination More Important Than Knowledge?”
This question stirs constant debate as some are inclined to trust knowledge rather than imagination.
They also trust logic over intuition.
But …
If you’re only limited to one form of knowledge, it restricts you from evolving.
Why?
It restricts you from evolving because you’ll passively accept human knowledge and never question anything.
In other words …
You’re going to accept a standardized belief adopted by society and put your full trust in a system that will perish.
Therefore, questioning everything is imperative to grow and evolve.
“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.”
– Albert Einstein
Curiosity is important because it allows you to search and cultivate life experience.
It provides you with wisdom and maturity.
Therefore, knowledge too must be questioned.
So … let’s go back to imagination.
I believe imagination is more important than knowledge but you must embrace both aspects.
Why?
Both imagination and knowledge play a vital role in transforming (I’ll give three reasons for both later in the article).
But …
I think imagination is more important than knowledge because knowledge is limited to human belief whereas imagination is infinite …
It’s open to anything.
It even allows you to:
- Expand your mental capacity
- Expand your emotional capacity
- Activate all areas of your mind
- Manifest your reality
- Meditate and connect to higher realms with ease
- Etc.
Sadly, most us lose touch with our childhood imagination as we begin to recognize society standards and morals.
That is, working, studying, paying bills, getting caught up in media, seeing race, ethnicity and ideology, etc.
All this leads to stress, overwhelm, a busy mind and diminishing imagination.
In turn …
We forget the importance of detaching from reality and “just being.”
“Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
– Matthew 18:3
You may be thinking …
Why must I become like a child to ascend, reconnect to Source or enter the “kingdom of heaven?”
There’s a number of reasons …
- Children aren’t conformed to society
- Children don’t stress about earthly matters
- Children don’t compare or recognize duality (i.e. religion, ideology, politics, ethnicity, race, etc.)
- Children don’t carry hate or resentment within them
- Children freely express themselves
- Children do as they feel without fear or doubt
- Children have vivid imaginations and creativity
(There’s so much more but I’m going to end the list here so I can move on).
I emphasised children have vivid imaginations and creativity because this is a primal aspect we must get back to.
As children we said things like “I’m going to be a billionaire when I’m older,” “I’m going to make flying cars,” etc.
We didn’t see limits or restrictions …
It’s only when family, media or society instill beliefs (knowledge) in us we begin to lose touch with our imagination.
We’ve all been like this … including you.
Somewhere along our childhood we stop using our imagination as we start to listen to outside influences.
Those influences (media, school, family, associates, etc.) condone imagination and believe it’s fanatical, day-dreaming and overzealous.
Schools especially …
They only recognize one form of genius (the most academic) thus shutting off our unique imagination and creativity.
Nevertheless, schools provide valuable information for those who seek a high-earning job such as a doctor, lawyer, engineer, etc.
That’s why it’s important to be aware of our current school system.
By seeing the current school system for what it is, you’ll know if it’s the right option for you or your child.
Read our “Being Aware Of The Current School System – The Pros and Cons.”
Now …
Let’s get into 3 key reasons you need both imagination and knowledge.
3 Reasons Why Imagination is Important
Firstly, let’s start with 3 reasons imagination is important.
1. Imagination Is The Foundation Of Manifestation
I briefly covered this earlier in the article but I’m going to elaborate on it more.
So …
How is imagination the foundation of manifestation?
Well it’s simple.
The basic principle of manifestation is …
Your thoughts, feelings and projections create your reality.
Therefore …
Being able to control your thoughts and emotions are essential to live with passion and conviction.
However,
Make sure you can distinguish between daydreams and manifestation.
What’s the difference?
Daydreaming by definition is a series of pleasant thoughts that distracts one’s attention from the present.
In other words …
Daydreaming means fantasizing (imagining) without real intention to achieve it.
By contrast,
Manifestation by definition is the action or fact of showing something.
In other words …
Manifestation means visualizing (imagining) something and, combined with action, bringing it into the physical.
Fun facts …
1) Did you know Nikola Tesla visualized all his inventions and meticulously constructed them within his imagination before proceeding to create it in concrete form?
Interesting, right?
2) From imagination you can discover your life purpose.
You may be thinking …
How does imagination provide insight to my life purpose?
I’ll answer that for you …
It helps you discover your life purpose because it provokes constant feeling/thoughts into you of who you want to be, who you don’t want to be, what you desire and what you hate.
By realizing the thoughts and activities that stimulate your joy, you’re underway to discover your life purpose and meaning.
Knowing what you dislike also helps as it provides insight on what you desire to change and be fixed.
2. Imagination Stimulates Your Creativity
Without imagination, the music you listen to, art you admire, novels you love, etc. wouldn’t exist.
This is because …
Creative expression stems from your imagination.
Imagination allows you to articulate your internal feelings/thoughts in a creative and artistic manner.
“Do not quench your imagination and your inspiration; do not become the slave of your model.”
– Vincent Van Gogh
What does it mean?
I’ll explain my interpretation …
To me it depicts the nature of an artist or creator.
A musician, artist, sculptor, painter, writer, etc. create something from their heart … not their sight.
In other words …
Artists portray what they feel, not what they see.
Beethoven is a classic example …
Most of his greatest pieces were composed when he was deaf.
How is this possible?
Well …
Before composing his music, he’d imagine the sounds and voices each instrument played in his mind.
Then he’d feel and embrace the vibrations of each tone before proceeding to write his music.
Fascinating, right?!
Imagination and creativity also corresponds to meditation and tuning in …
By slowing your brain into a delta or theta state, your imagination and connection to higher realms will increase.

3. Imagination Sparks Innovation
“Don’t betray your dreams for the sake of fitting in. Dreaming is one of humanities greatest gifts. It champions aspiration, spurs innovation, leads to change, and propels the world forward. Dream big!”
– Richard Branson
It’s not only artists who credit their talent and success to their imagination …
But also famous inventors and scientific geniuses.
Steve Jobs, Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison are among the list of inventors who state imagination sparks innovation.
I’m going to repeat a quote I mentioned earlier …
“Be alone, that is the secret of invention; be alone, that is when ideas are born.”
– Nikola Tesla
I’d like to emphasise this because your imagination can reveal innovative solutions and ideas.
When outside influences of shame, guilt, opinions, etc. are crippled, you’ll find it easier to tune in and utilize your imagination.
However,
Imagination doesn’t spark innovation if you can’t implement what you see.
From imagination, ideas are born …
The next step is to practically bring those ideas into form.
3 Reasons Knowledge Is Important
Now … let’s list 3 reasons knowledge is important.
“My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.”
– Hosea 4:6
1. You’ll Understand Basic Laws and Theories
Understanding basic laws, theories and systems are very important.
Why?
Without understanding them, you won’t know how to utilize your imagination.
Let’s use Beethoven again for our example …
Although he imagined the sounds, voices and vibrations of each instrument before writing his music, it still required his music theory knowledge.
Meaning …
If he wasn’t trained in music theory and basic fundamentals, he wouldn’t have been able to compose his music.
This same principle applies to every law and theory … including universal laws.
Knowing universal laws is important because you’ll know the laws of karma, manifestation, discovering your life purpose, etc.
Some of these laws include:
- Karmic Law
- Spiritual Laws
- Law of Attraction
- Music Theory
- Health Laws
- Investing Laws
- The Drama Triangle
- Law of Cause and Effect
- Etc.
2. “The More You Learn, The More Places You’ll Go”
“The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go.”
– Dr Seuss
This can apply to anything …
Such as:
- Sports
- Manifesting
- Meditating
- Arts, music and creativity
- Spirituality
- Etc.
The more you learn about a particular subject, the more opportunities you have in that field and the more places you’ll go …
For example …
If you read a lot about psychology you’ll have more opportunities such as becoming a therapist, counsellor, healer, etc.
As another example …
Let’s use your imagination.
By cultivating knowledge around imagination, dimensions, astral projection, etc. you’ll broaden your scope and explore more realms you thought were possible!
3. Knowledge Brings Your Ideas To Reality
Without knowledge, you won’t know how to implement your ideas into form.
That bring said …
If you’re a visionary, you’ll inspire others to assist or implement them for you.
Take Steve Jobs as an example …
He only had a basic understanding of technology yet he revolutionised the electronics industry.
How is this possible?
He was a true visionary.
He knew how to inspire others to assist him in creating his ideas.
But …
He still had knowledge about technology.
Therefore,
Knowledge is a crucial part of turning your ideas into reality.
Why?
You’ll know the next required actions.
Without knowing what to do next or who to ask, your ideas will stay inside your head.
It’s as simple as that.
